Compost tea is aerated until the time of purchase to keep the organisms alive and thriving. For best results, compost tea should be used within 4-6 hours. Further aeration can keep the tea alive for several days. This can be accomplished with an inexpensive aquarium pump with an airstone or other bubbler. Improper storage times and temperature extremes will negatively impact the biology and thus the effectiveness of the tea.
